Provincial Competition
BCAAFE Special Competition
The BC Association of Agricultural Fairs and Exhibitions (BCAAFE) invites Exhibitors of all ages to participate in the 2010 “Member’s Choice Awards’. Winning exhibits will be entered in the Annual Convention in October 2010 to compete against winning entries from other fairs from around BC. Please submit your entry in one or all of the following classes.

Class:
BC1 Smocking - Whether it be a home decor item or clothing, we want you to share this unique style with whatever project you choose.
BC2 Whittle - Today we know it as carving. Show us your hand carved item that you whittled from a piece of wood. (No lathe work). No larger than 24”x24”x24”.
BC3 Picture - “A picture is worth a thousand words”, and we are looking for a colour picture that depicts agriculture in our province. It is to be unframed and mounted on a firm backing not exceeding 8”x10”. (The entry voted top choice will be printed on the cover of the December LiveWire and posted on the BC Fairs website). Please provide location/region where the photo was taken on back of entry.
National Competition
Country Fair Baking Contest
This contest is open to anyone who bakes with the following sponsors, Robin Hood Flour, Fleischmann’s Yeast, Tenderflake, and CERTO.

Entry Fee: $2 per entry
Special Rules:
1. Only one entry per class per Exhibitor.
2. All entrants into the contest must sumbit entries that were made using the sponsor’s product.
3. Entries must be accompanied by product label and the recipe to qualify.
4. Entries are judged on appearance, texture, and creativity of recipe and presentation.
5. All first place winners must submit recipe, proof of purchase, photograph, and signed release form giving permission to the sponsors for use of the winner’s name, recipe and/or photograph in any other advertising or publicity without payment.
6. Winners must be present in the Exhibit Building on Sunday, August 22 at 3:30 pm to get their picture taken with their entry.

Best homemade ginger snap cookies.

Best homemade whole wheat bread.
Prize: 1st $15, 2nd $10 plus prizes
CF4 Tenderflake Best Pie
Best homemade apple pie.
