Best Gift Pack submitted using Bernardin Mason jars and SNAP Lid as selected by the Judge. Judge will select winner based on creativity, quality of home canned product, perceived value and appropriateness of presentation. Prize - Rosette Prize Ribbon and a $20 Gift Certificate.

Bernardin SNAP Lid/Mason Jar Creative Craft Award.
Best decorative or functional homemade craft made using Bernardin mason jar(s) and/or 2-piece SNAP Lid as selected by the judge. Prize Rosette Prize Ribbon and a $20 Gift Certificate. See Section 9 of this Division for the Special Class info.

Special Rules:
UNSEALED JARS WILL NOT BE JUDGED

1. One entry per exhibitor in each class. Including other class.
2. All canned goods must be presented in a MASON jar designed for home canning.
3. All jars must be clean and properly sealed to qualify
for judging.
4. Canned goods must have been prepared within one year of the judging date.
5. Any jars sealed with paraffin wax will be disqualified.
6. Jars must be labeled as to their contents and the date prepared.
7. Meat and low acid vegetables (i.e. – corn, peas, carrots) must be prepared using a pressure canner method.
8. Canning is judged on colour, even distribution of content, interior texture, appearance (make sure jars have clean rims and the rings are clean), and how the
jars are packed and sealed.
9. Judges may or may not open the jars. That is left to their discretion.
10. If jars are opened, the flavor, texture etc. is also judged.
11. Junior Exhibitors and Youth entries welcome. Please add a J or a Y behind the class number.
12. Junior, Youth and Adult will be judged separately.

If entry is themed for an occasion, the contents are appropriate to the theme. Baskets are not necessary, feel free to use any container that fits your theme. The judge will select winning entry based on creativity, quality and appropriateness of presentation.
