The events, days and times listed below are subject to change. Please check the Schedule of Events closer to the fair for the correct times of events.
Kids have fun a the Nechako Valley Exhibition. There is always lots going on all weekend long. Here is a list of some of the planned events for kids. Also check out the following Divisions for more ways to participate at the fair.
4-H - 4H clubs and competitions

Division 9 - Preschool Exhibits - Exhibits for ages 0-5 yrs.
Division 21 - Junior Exhibits - Exhibits for ages 6-14 yrs.
Division 22 - Youth Exhibits - Exhibits for ages 15-17 yrs.
NEW Carnival Games
Come out and enjoy the many carnival games that will be set-up around the grounds for kids of all ages to enjoy.
NEW Fall Fair Theme Song Competition
Students from three Vanderhoof elementary schools will be performing on-stage the Fall Fair Theme Song they composed. Come and support these students and see which school wins!
NEW All Day Music Concert - Performers Needed!
Teenagers here is your chance to perform on-stage. Sign-up to perform in a five minute time slot on Friday (Teen Day). Download the registration form and click here to see what time slots are available.
Teen Day! - Saturday
On the Saturday of the fair, teenagers will be able to enter the fair at a reduced price of $4. Come all day and participate in the Teen Amazing Race or Bungee Jumping, shop, eat and just hang out. We want to see teens at the fair, so come and take advantage of Teen Day.
Kid's Container Garden - Thursday 5:00-8:00pm
Free One Day pass to the 2010 Nechako Valley Exhibition August 20-22 for each student who submits a container garden exhibit. Entries accepted Thursday August 19 from 5:00-8:00pm. Make sure the water your containers just before you bring them. Water will be available at the fair to water your containers over the weekend. Entries get picked up on Sunday at 4:00pm. To enter a container garden, you need to start your container gardens now! Be creative! Decorate your containers! Chives in Boots? Tomatoes in Baskets? A Sunflower in a barrel? Spuds in a Tub?
Container gardens will be judged on creativity of the container, quality and health of plants, and overall presentation. Prizes to be won!

Warning: Please do not plant vegetables or fruit in rubber containers because they will leach chemicals into the soil and may contaminate the plants.
Lego Village - all weekend
A special display by Mac's House of Bricks. Come and see this fascinating display all made of lego. Come decorate a lego cookie for fun!
Scavenger Hunt - all weekend
Daily prizes to be won. Come and learn about animals while finding hidden clues. Visit the Info Booth to get your scavenger list - then start hunting!
Pet Parade - All Pets Welcome - Saturday noon
Saturday at 12:00 Noon. Register your pet on Thursday August 20 after 5:00 pm in the small animal barn, OR call Jeannie 567-7263 to register before Saturday.
Newsie - all weekend
Come and play with 'Newsie' at the fair. Newsie will be handing out colouring books to children all weekend long. Sponsored by the Omineca Express.

ds' Tent - Saturday and Sunday
New and Improved! The kids' tent will have GREEN themed activities for kids to enjoy. Open Saturday and Sunday starting at 10:00 am.
Kids Tractor Pull - Saturday and Sunday 1:00pm
Saturday and Sunday 1:00 pm near the Information Booth
Come test your pulling power in the tractor pull. Win prizes and have fun! Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm.
Colouring Contest - all weekend
There will be a colouring contest running all weekend in the Small Animal Barn for kids aged 3-7, 8-12, 13+. Prizes will be awarded on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Scarecrow Competition - Thursday 5:00-8:00pm
Have fun creating your unique scarecrow. Scarecrows will be used to decorate the Barn for the duration of the Exhibition. We hope to see lots of different ideas for making scarecrows. Everyone’s participation in this event is greatly appreciated.
Categories: Ages 6 – 13
Ages 14 – Adult
Entry Fee: $2.00 for both age categories.
Prize: The winner of each category receives a rosette ribbon and 50% of entry fees of scarecrow competition.
How to Enter:
1. Scarecrows need to be at the Small Animal Barn starting from 5:00 pm on Thursday August 20.
2. You can either make your scarecrow when you get there, or you can make it at home before you come.
3. The judging will take place on Thursday August 20 after all scarecrows are entered.
4. Please pick-up your scarecrows on Sunday August 23 at 4:00 pm.
Junior Gymkhana - Sunday, 9:00am
Sunday August 23 at 9:00 am in the indoor arena. This year contestants must pre-register by August 8. Click here to download the entry form.
Junior Ranch Hand Competition - Saturday, 3:00pm
Saturday August 22 at 3:00 pm in the indoor arena. For ages 6-16. Prizes to be won. More information coming.
Teen Amazing Race - Saturday
For ages 13-17. Teams of 4 race around the grounds completing challenges. Cash and prizes to be won. $40 to enter. Only 6 teams of 4 in the race so enter early. Download the entry form and liability form or contact Anna for more information at 250-567-9360.

Slide, swings, jungle gym, kids tent, and more. Located in the center of the Exhibition Grounds.
